The FlyingFish Fry is here!

She's been here for almost 3 weeks, actually, but it's hard to catch up with things like blogging when you're just trying to catch up on sleep!

Michaela Ann made her appearance just a few minutes before midnight on July 16th. She put her mom through a lovely 22 hours of labor and then decided that she didn't want to come out without a c-section. Born at 11:54pm, she weighed 8 lbs, 13.4 oz and was 21.5 inches long. Two weeks later, she was already up to 9 lbs, 6 oz, so she's definitely doing well!

As for her mom and dad, we're adjusting. Thankfully, the hubs had more than 2 weeks off from work (thank goodness for weekends!), and has been fantastic about taking care of things around the house so that I can work on healing. A c-section is definitely no small thing, and it took almost two weeks until I could easily get out of bed myself (getting around was fine after that, it was just the getting up that was hard!). Now we're working on figuring out what all the cries mean, dealing with a fussy/gassy baby, and trying to get some sleep when we can. With only six weeks til I go back to work, we're hoping to figure out as much as we can as soon as we can!

So here she is!

Awww. Congrats! My best friend had a baby boy on the 26th of July and he's cute as a button too.
