Lurking among boxes

Within a span of five days, our household goods arrived, we welcomed a four month old puppy into the home, I transferred to my new office and joined my new team, and my dearly beloved departed for his first patrol in two years.

I am surrounded by boxes and working on a makeshift desk with a cable line strewn across the room. The house looks like it blew up, and I have some serious deadlines from my new bosses. And last night, I sat on the couch and cried. And then I got up, let out the dog, and hung curtains.

Truth be told, I could not agree more with our previous post. Reach out! Contact someone if you need help! The amount of resources available to us, whether it be friends, family, or organized and paid for by the USCG all enable you to focus on whatever tasks may be a priority at that moment.

But, on the other side of the coin, after a good, cleansing cry last night, followed by an email from my beloved this morning, I know I can tackle those boxes...right after I let out the puppy for his morning jaunt...

Hugs! The good thing is that if you do need some help or support you've got it right there and others there on the island. :)

Take your time and enjoy making your new house your home.

*hugs*

I can imagine it's all overwhelming right now. You are amazing though. Perhaps you can wrinkle your nose and everything will magically unpack for you!

I've spent this entire patrol crying at least every other day so I know what you mean, dollface. I know you'll do great now that you've had your good long cleansing cry, and you know you can always call me when you're all sniffly and just need to chat with someone in the same situation. :)
